Workflow

How AltQuill Works

From product image to reviewed alt text in four steps.

Connect Your Store

Download the release ZIP and upload it in WordPress under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Get a free API key to connect your catalog.

Context-Aware AI Scan

Our vision model analyzes your product photos together with product titles, attributes (size, material, color), and categories for true context.

Hold-for-Approval Queue

Safety by default. Suggested descriptions appear in your WordPress admin review queue. Edit or approve them in bulk or one-by-one.

Sync Approved Descriptions

Approved alt text, image titles, and captions instantly update your media library. Use reviewed descriptions to support your store’s accessibility.

Built For Store Owners

Why Merchants Choose AltQuill

Built with privacy, merchant control, and catalog precision at the core.

Zero Image Retention

We process images in ephemeral memory and never persist them to disk. Your images are never stored, never sold, and never used to train AI models.

Private Dedicated Inference

Runs on our own dedicated model hardware (Qwen-VL architecture). No third-party AI APIs (OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic) ever see your catalog assets.

Hold-for-Approval Workflow

Never worry about AI hallucinations going live without approval. AltQuill stages suggestions in your store admin so you retain 100% editorial authority.

Zero Tracking or Ad Cookies

No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixels, no tracking scripts. Fast page loads and complete privacy respect for you and your store visitors.

Multilingual Alt Text

Generate fluent, natural alt descriptions in English, Spanish, and more. Expand your international reach and localized search presence.

Titles & Captions Included

Generate descriptive image titles and captions alongside alt text in a single request. One image credit covers all three metadata fields.

WooCommerce alt text FAQ

How do I add alt text to WooCommerce product images?

Install the AltQuill WordPress plugin, connect your API key and request suggestions for your product images. Review and edit each description before approving it for your media library.

What should good product image alt text include?

Describe the visible product and details that matter in context, such as its shape, colour or pattern. Keep it concise, avoid keyword stuffing and check that the description matches the image.

Does AI alt text guarantee higher rankings or accessibility compliance?

No. Accurate alt text can help people and search engines understand an image, but rankings and accessibility depend on the rest of your site too. Always review AI suggestions.

Can I try AltQuill for free?

The free plan includes 25 images per calendar month with no credit card required. Compare the monthly and annual options on the AltQuill pricing page.
